CORPORATE MATCHING


How would you like to double your donation?

Across Canada a variety of employers are looking to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and are able to match their employees’ fundraising efforts and donations.

How?

Imagine your $1 turning into $2 and $100 doubled to $200! These funds support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation which allocates donor dollars to research, education and awareness programs from coast to coast. With a variety of corporate giving opportunities available from your workplace, including corporate donations, matching gifts, and fundraising, you can support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure in many ways.

In a socially responsible environment, many corporations and organizations support corporate giving  through their employees philanthropic initiatives. Corporate giving enhances an organization’s reputation, helps to increase brand recognition, along with attracting quality employees whileincreasing retention.

Corporate Matching Submission Details

Once you have confirmed that your employer has a corporate matching program and your employer has agreed to submit a donation along with a letter (or form), you can mail it directly to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Please ensure the cheque, along with a letter (or form), is mailed to the address listed below:

NOTE: Corporate matching cheques should not be deposited at a CIBC branch. Please mail them directly to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation at the address listed above.

Sample Matching Letter
Your employer must submit a letter with their donation so the Foundation can be sure to allocate the funds accordingly. Please include the following details in the letter:

Company/donor name
Donation amount
Reason for match (employee or family member donation, or employee fundraising)
Name of employee, Run participant or Run team to which the donation is being directed
Any special instructions on the division of funds

With this donation, we are supporting theteam fundraising efforts of our employees

Corporate Matching Program

Canadian companies of varying sizes support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure through a range of corporate giving initiatives. Corporate giving includes corporate donations, matching gifts, fundraising and donations for volunteering. These charitable initiatives are hallmarks of a socially responsible organization. Corporate involvement can enhance an organization’s reputation, increase brand recognition, help to attract quality employees, and increase retention. To find out if your employer matches your volunteer hours, fundraising efforts, or donations to charitable causes, speak to your human resources department.

Corporate Matching Options

Companies may choose to contribute to the Run for the Cure in a variety of ways including matching all or a portion of its employees’ donations or fundraising. Your employer may wish to provide a cheque for their matching contribution or they can search for your name and make a donation on the Run for the Cure website. 

Tax Receipts

The Foundation is happy to receipt any corporate donation it receives. For offline contributions, tax receipts will be sent by mail to donors between December 31, 2012, and no later than the end of February, 2013 Corporate cheques received by the Foundation used to cover the registration fees for corporate participants are not eligible for tax receipts and are not refundable based on Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. Corporate donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation from registered foundations are not eligible for tax receipts based on Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. Donations from registered Foundations will be acknowledged with an official letter from the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
